COMPANY HISTORY

B.I.I.C. Bianchi started in 1948 as an individual business, by the chemist Piero Bianchi. At the age of 28, while he was working for the pharmaceutical company Vister (Casatenovo), he started building small stainless steel vessels for his own personal usage. He used, as the base material, some stainless steel fuel tanks that the U.S. army abandoned in the Monza Park after the World War II. Airplanes used this 30 liters tanks for "breating oxygen" storage. Due to the success that he had among his colleagues by introducing in the laboratories this new material, the stainless steel, he started building small vessels also for them.
The demand was high and he found success in this acitivty, so the new business was started.

The first realizations were all for the pharmaceutical industries. Production of antibiotics through fermentation, liquid–liquid extraction, filtration and purification was the most growing industry in the second half of the 40s, so the production of B.I.I.C. Bianchi started thanks to this sector.

High volume fermenters and extractors have represented the core business for all the 50s.

Meanwhile, in the years 50s, also another sector arised: the polymer industry.

Polymerization plants, for the production of polycondensation or polyaddition polymers (such as polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, phenol formaldhyde resins), became in the following years part of the core business of B.I.I.C. Bianchi. The production ranged from pilot plants, with useful volume of few liters, to industrial scale production plants.
Reactors, condensers, rectification columns, thinning tanks, phase separators and filtration units were all part of these plants.

Production of freeze-drying plants was also started back in that period.

In addition to this products, B.I.I.C. Bianchi during its longstanding history has always satisfied the demanding requests of its customers, building all kind of special and particular plants that were requested. Here below are some examples:

  • Gypsum production
  • Solvent recycling
  • Catalytic oxidation
  • High temperature crystallization
  • Hydrothermal carbonization
  • Microwave extractors
  • Hot melt mixers
  • Molecular distillaton
  • Skid and containerized units

Nowdays, B.I.I.C. Bianchi is still based in Concorezzo, Italy, after more than 70 years of history. All our plants are built here, in a 5.000 m² workshop.
All the equipment is built according to the most recent european product directives (PED, ATEX, MACHINE, LOW VOLTAGE) and is made entirely in stainless steel or in Hastelloy, incoloy, monel or other corrosion-resistant alloys.
Every plant is built accordingly to specific customer requirements.
